LEAP Lab pursues research at the intersection of Education and Technology. Accordingly, we recruit two types of students:
Students with a strong background or interest in education, instructional design, or learning sciences. Teaching experience (e.g., K-12 teacher) is a plus. You will lead research on designing pedagogically grounded AI systems and evaluating their educational impact.
Students with a strong background in machine learning, NLP, or software engineering. You will lead research on developing AI models and applications, with a focus on Large Language Models (LLM) and Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models, as well as knowledge tracing and multimodal systems for education.
Note: Regardless of your initial track, all lab members are expected to develop competency in both perspectives before graduation. Education-track students will learn core ML skills, and ML-track students will build a solid understanding of educational theories and practice.
Graduate Students (M.S. / Ph.D.):
We welcome applications from students with backgrounds in Computer Science, AI, Education Technology, or related fields. Please send your CV and a brief statement of interest to the email below.
